Unexpected is quite a short read, I’m pretty sure that all the books in this series are relatively short reads as well, so I will keep this review on the shorter side so I don’t give too much away. I normally am not a fan of shorter books, what can I say I liked books that are apically long, but as it turns out I do on occasion need a book that’s shorter in length, and so I turned to this series.I actually liked the character of Blair, she wasn’t exactly the standard heroine, and I loved that about her. She has some past history that she copes with by finding available men in bar, learning nothing about them, and having her way with them. But hey this is a romance so of course one of these guys gets hooked on her. Enter West, who it turns out is not just some random dude, nope he is the lead singer in a rock band.
This book definitely is steamy, so if that is something that you are looking for then this is so your book. And I liked West as the hero of the story. He seems to have his own damaged past he is dealing with, so maybe the two of them aren’t exactly the best people to be together, but then again I liked that about them.
There are some interesting events within the book, but I really don’t want to ruin anything for future readers. I will say that my biggest issue with this book, and the reason I didn’t rate it higher is because I felt like everything happened in such a whirlwind that it didn’t feel as authentic as I would have liked. Other than that though it was a good read and I enjoyed it, so if you are looking for a short and steamy read with a hot rock star this may be the book for you.

This book is emotional, raw, and gritty with just the right amount of sexy. Yes, it is a series but if the first book is like this, I can’t wait to read the rest.
Blair and West are two 'no holds barred' people. It was a refreshing change for the two main characters in a book to be as badass as one another. Both are after only one thing on the night they meet but get so much more than they bargained for in the aptly titled 'unexpected.' Even though these two initially come across a tough we get to uncover their vulnerabilities and I'm looking forward to peeling back more layers in the next instalment. Very well written. Gripped me from the start.
This is the first book in the "Unexpected" trilogy and was free on . I haven't decided if I'll continue on with the trilogy or not, but hot damn! This book was smokin' up the sheets from about page three onward! Blair saunters into a bar just looking for a small reprieve from her craptastic life. She meets Mr. Dark and Dangerous, not knowing he's THE Jake West, lead singer from Affliction. All she wants is a one-night stand with no names and no strings. But Jake can't let her go and pursues her. It's a pretty great cat-and-mouse game with lots of soul-bearing stuff in between. I loved Blair's tough-as-nails exterior - she was such a ballsy lead character. I'd give this a 5-star, especially since it was free, and makes you want to keep reading the series.
This book is fast paced and hot! Blair and West ha e their own big issues and when they meet in a bar they just wanted to hook up. Who knew that the guy was in the hottest band touring, not Blair. Blair has so much emotional damage that she tries for the least amount of connections, just get what she wants nd leaves before someone will leave her. This book touches on emotions quite a few people go through at least once in their life. It's hard to open up and talk about how messed up you are, especially to someone you must met. But West is determined to keep the one thing that has made him feel alive again. The sex is hot and you get to read plenty of it, you connect with the emotions of them and understand where they are coming from. Definitely an amazing start! Can't wait to read the rest. If you have not read this series, go buy it now!
This book was a very pleasant surprise. Blair went to a bar looking for a no strings attached one night stand she doesn't do relationships. Blair's life is crappy her job is crappy and she wants to have a couple of orgasms and go on her way. Along come a hot guy and they go back to his hotel room she has no idea that he is the lead singer of a hot rock band. After creeping out of his room in the middle of the night leave her ID behind. The sex is raw and dirty, just the way I like it. West feels as if Blair is the missing piece he needs, but Blair is a little hesitant at first. Everyone always leaves, and she doesn't want to get left behind one more time. Dating a rock star is hazardous, but once West puts his lips on Blair she can never say no. I would have felt a little more emotionally connected to Blair if her past was explored more, but I'm hoping she opens up more in the next book. West is sexy as all get out, but he doesn't come off as cocky or arrogant like most rock star heroes. This was a good beginning to this series.
A few warnings about this book IF you are over 18, read this book. IF you don't mind the way over use of the F bomb, read this book. IF you enjoy being almost a voyeur while people are having sex, read this book. IF you are open minded and not a prude, read this book. IF you enjoy a well written story, characters who are broken but finding each other seem to find the glue to hold each other together, read this book. I am done with warnings. This is such a fabulous story, the broken hearts and lives of two people who just happen to meet. Neither will tell the other their name, they meet by chance in a bar and its instant sparks, like fireworks on the 4th of July. Blair is looking for a quick one night stand, someone to take her mind off the pain and boredom that life has thrown in her path. West has been in rehab and is not really looking for anything but sex. And so they meet and let the fireworks begin. I don't know why my kindle didn't ignite with the passion and fire this story creates. The sex is hotter than hell, the way the story is told from each of their points of view is great, no wondering what one was thinking when the other was screaming their name in climax. Totally great, I ended this book and hit the search button for the second book. Chemistry lab explosion is all I can say for these two. Amity Cross did a fab job writing this story. I look forward to many more of her books.
